Emily Welsh
Instructor
Emily grew up right here in The Woodlands, so teaching at Wicked Core feels a little bit like coming full circle. She just graduated from LSU with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, and while she loved her time in Baton Rouge, she always knew she'd find her way back home.
Her Lagree journey started a little over a year ago, and it didn't take long for it to become an obsession. What drew her in wasn't just the physical burn, it was how much the method demands mentally. Staying present, controlling every inch of a movement, fighting to hold form when your body is begging you to break it— that combination of focus and effort is what hooked her from the very first class, and it's what she still chases every time she gets on the megaformer.
Fitness has always been part of her life. She's been an endurance runner for as long as she can remember, and beyond running, she's always looking for the next way to move, get stronger, or challenge herself in a new way. Lagree ended up being the thing that brought all of that together: the endurance, the strength work, the mental grit, all in one class.
This past April, she got engaged to her high school sweetheart, and the two of them made the decision to put down roots in The Woodlands for good. That decision made choosing where to teach an easy one. Wicked Core isn't just a studio to her; it's the very place she took her first Lagree class, the one that started this whole journey. Now, as a certified trainer, She's excited to be on the other side of the megaformer, helping others find that same challenge and love for the method that changed the way she moves.
